Holo Taco Advent Calendar: Days 10-12

Image
Last three days! For day 10 we have a multi chrome flake topper called Wreath Havoc Taco. I used 1 coat over a black.     For day 11, we have a ivory linear holo polish called Ice Angel. I only needed 2 coats. This is a great transitional color into spring as well.  Day 12. We have another topper. This one is called Diamond Dasher Taco. I thought the diamond glitters were chunkier than they are but they seem to be reasonable size. You might have to fish them out if you don't roll the bottle between your hands (or shake it...which is not a problem) before using it. I used 1 coat over a black polish by Essie. And that is all for the Holo Taco Advent Calendar. What do you think? I liked the items in them. My favorite polishes are Silent Night, I've Angel, and Call Me Vixen.

Holo Taco Advent Calendar: Day 8 & 9

Image
Sorry I completely forgot to post yesterday's advebt calendar item.  For day 8 we got a travel size hand lotion in peppermint scent. Holo Taco does not sell the lotion in travel size so this is limited edition. I have tried their original when it first came out but was not in love with the greasy feeling I was left with. I am excited to try this though. Paired with the peppermint cuticle oil from Lights Lacquer, I am ready for the holidays.  For day 9, we have a pink holo called Pirouett Pink. It is prettier than I thought i would find it. I only needed 2 coats.  Love the two items. What do you think? The pink is very girly Christmas.

Holo Taco Advent Calendar: Day 7

Today's box brings us a clean up brush. The case is all silver. I wish it had snowflakes or something in it to show it being a holiday edition but I can always put some nail stickers on it. The weight is the same as the original one.  I have not tried it yet but no doubt it works well. I don't think any brush would beat the e.l.f. concealer brush but this brush is designed to handle acetone and will last longer.

Holo Taco Advent Calendar: Day 6

Image
Day 6 for the Holo Taco Advent Calendar was on the back of the cover. It is 3 sheets of star stickers. I just took a photo of them because I wanted to try to come up with nail art using it later on.  I am honestly surprised we got 3 sheets. Usually brands give 1 sheet of stickers. The style of the stickers are nice for quick nail art. I would have loved to see some snowflake ones as well but again, I am just happy we got 3 sheets.  I only show 1 sheet below because the other two are the same.  Would you use these? I am thinking these are nice for a nativity scene nail art.

Holo Taco Advent Calendar: Day 5

Image
Oh today we have a blue frosted metal for day 5. This is called In A Flurry. This took 4 coats to be opaque. You can probably get away with 3 if you have short nails. For me, the formula was too thick and took very long to dry. I have this on my nails right now and even with a quick dry top coat, it took too long to dry where it does not dent. I tried to stay away from this type of formula because it is a pain to take off (i probably have 1 other polish with this formula). I will say, the shine is insanely beautiful. No top coat on these swatches. Do you like this type of polish? I am glad I have the mini version because it is not the polish I would gravitate towards often but still like to stare at my hands sometimes when it is on.

Holo Taco Advent Calendar: Day 4

Image
Day 4 is probably one of my favorites! This is Call Me Vixen. The brand describes it as a rich cranberry jelly with shimmer and scattered holo. It. Is. Beautiful! I was able to only need 2 coats for my swatches.  On the practice fingers, the polish appears to dry dull. It.is always good to apply a top coat after to protect the polish from chipping but if you find it does dry dull, the top coat will bring back the shine. I am sorry I couldn't capture the holo well. My lighting was giving me problems at the time.  Holo Taco, please release this in full size 🙏

Holo Taco Advent Calendar: Day 3

Image
It is day 3! We have another polish but this time, it is a topper. This is a scattered holo topper called Gold Scatter Holo Taco. This was a long time coming but I believe I read somewhere that Cristine wanted to find the perfect gold scattered glitter for this polish. It is sad it is limited edition (maybe customers convince her to release it in full size). In the photos,  I applied one coat over Silent Night. No top coat.   What do you think? Do you think it was a long time coming or too late to release?

Holo Taco Advent Calendar: Day 2

Image
For day 2, we have a dark navy crelly named Silent Night. The bottle is 7ml which is more than half of the full size amount (photo of size comparison down below). I don't think it's a bad amount for an advent calender. The formula of the polish was good. With it being a crelly, it can take up to 4 coats to be fully opaque. For shorter nails, you can probably go up to three coats. I show you the polish without top coat and against different skin tones. I used 3 coats for my nails and 4 coats for the fake nail.  I hope these swatches help you see how the polish looks against each skin tone.  Unfortunately,  the polish is limited edition (though I hope if Holo Taco gets enough feedback, they release it in full size). What do you think? Would you buy this in full size?
